Summer’s End

There’s a certain drama to the garden in late summer. It’s almost as if plants know they haven’t much time left to soak up sun and rain. The light is more intense and the plants more hardy. The leaves that have made it this far and the blooms still hanging on  after their color is gone have a certain character about them. A last hurrah before the New England frost shuts them down for another season. Time to hibernate.

There’s No Place Like Home In The Garden

This past year, I lived in Greenville, South Carolina and worked diligently at sourcing printers and fabric for my new line of decorative pillows. My husband and I lived in a little apartment- he went off to work and I stayed home working on cost of goods, color correcting digital art files and reviewing printed samples. Frequent trips out to suppliers and home décor markets took me to various places including North Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia. I learned a lot. And I loved the area. We had just started making friends when it was time to return home to Connecticut.
