Ever wonder why they’re called throw pillows? I vaguely recall throwing lots of pillows when I was growing up, including bed pillows. Not sure that’s what was intended. Related Images:

The Age of Morning Glories
Morning Glories are some of my favorite flowers- especially the color called Midnight Blue. I start them from seed and then as with many flowers, I photograph them through their entire life cycle. What I’ve learned about most flowers is that they change color as they age, and they take on new, sometimes unusual characteristics. No one stage is less beautiful than another. As the autumn chill takes hold, Morning Glories also develop very different personalities as they soften and turn in on themselves. They could be poster children for age appreciation. Every one of these images is that of a

Summertime is Outdoor Time
Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia offers a refreshing antidote to the heat of summer -fountains! I sometimes forget that cooking a hot meal in July is not a good idea. It’s also hard to find alternatives that don’t require too much brainpower. My friend Alison has some great ideas. I also love it that she tells you why certain foods are better to eat in summertime. There’s No Place Like Home In The Garden
This past year, I lived in Greenville, South Carolina and worked diligently at sourcing printers and fabric for my new line of decorative pillows. My husband and I lived in a little apartment- he went off to work and I stayed home working on cost of goods, color correcting digital art files and reviewing printed samples. We had just started making friends when it was time to return home to Connecticut.

Taking A Chance On Love

I named this pillow “ La Violetta”. She required an Italian name she’s so full of drama. (I can say that because I’m half Italian). Related Images:

Water Time
Memories of summer have always included water. My parents knew that given the heat of DC, we had to get to water. Ocean, lakes, summer camp – even the ammonia -scented swim hall at school. And in desperate times- the hose out back. That blessed sensation of WET somehow made it all right. Related Images:

I fell for the color red many years ago
Red is one of those colors that like it or not, has tremendous impact. Sometimes people question how they can include strong colors in their living space given all the other colors and patterns. I say, be daring. Don’t you mix multiple colors and texture into a single bouquet of flowers? Flowers are great like that. Related Images:

At Last-From Flowers to Pillows
This photo reminds me of Etta James who was incredibly challenged by an abusive childhood and an adult life of drug addiction. A passionate performer and four-time Grammy winner-her music continues to reach out and surprise with its intensity. Photography is a passion that crept up on me unawares. Related Images:
