Just back from NYC in the ongoing quest for knowledge. A whirlwind tour of the NY NOW show at the Javitts Center followed by another go at “Trends for Spring 2016” -this time for home décor. As expected, lots of crossover in colors and concepts to apparel – a really interesting talk by Patti Carpenter at the Cliff Young Showroom in the NY Design Center. More on that next time. (One of my favorite topics). You can get a hint about color by my photo on this post. And… Related Images:

Super Paola 2015
This time of year, one can feel eclipsed by all the goings-on. Having raised three college athletes, I learned early to let the game roll and entertain myself on Super Sunday. This year, the sport’s latest controversy has been deflating to say the least. But I was so pleased to find the Super Bowl has new excitement for Paola Pillows. Related Images:

White Christmas
This flower reminds me of fire rather than late summer…which it was. There was snow on the ground in Litchfield this morning and we’ve got the stoves stoked with wood and pellets. It’s feeling cozy inside as the world outside rushes to Christmas. Related Images:

Sisters
The pillow on the right with the pink flowers is an update to another pillow I made a few months ago. I like the way it picks up the blue color from the pillow to its left. The photos are both taken from the same plant. The flowers grow on a bush that actually lives behind that hosta in my garden. They hang out together. Related Images:

Rooibos Winter Spice Tea
People cannot live on Paola Pillows alone- and as the days get shorter and darker, you need to take a break wherever you can get it. I’m a huge believer in the importance of surrounding yourself with multi-sensorial comforts- visual, sound, smell and gustatory pleasures…in combination. Especially during the holidays. Perfection and Paola Pillows
I think it was Coco Chanel who said that perfection was the path of all artists and it certainly resonates with me. Sometimes however, perfection and production collide without a happy ending. Related Images:
