Guilty as charged

The skunk cabbages have sprung and I’m in love. I spent most of the day outside Saturday, after dutifully planning to stay inside to work on my High Point pillow booth. Instead, I raked the garden, loaded in wood and cleaned the pellet stove.  Oh, the guilt I had to beat back. The sun came out today and melted most of the last  (?) Spring snow. Related Images:

Say Goodbye to Summer

I finally got outside to fertilize the azaleas and put my last “discount plant” finds in the ground. Of course, that meant bulbs, watering and chips too. After a couple hours racing around, I realized I’d pretty much failed “being in the moment”. I tried. Got a lot done though. Related Images:

Birthday Girl

It’s my birthday today! I had to explain to someone today how Paola Pillows have their origins in fine art. My dilemma was how to infuse fine art training into home décor products. Living Green

We make Paola Pillows from 5.6oz. 100% cotton sateen, and I love to work with it. It’s soft to the touch and the fabric saturates intensely with the beautiful colors from my garden. La Violetta is a dramatic looking pillow I re-created in Photoshop from a photo of a hybrid lily. Quite the showstopper. Related Images:

Garden Adventures

I found an article posted on Facebook I really enjoyed reading. A gardener/blogger by the name of Maggie Tran, recounts her visit to a private garden in the Loire region of France. Her descriptions of the land and its scents reminded me so much of early Spring. Related Images:

A Ray of Sunshine

Paola pillows are soft feather and cotton sateen- and NOT outdoor pillows. This Ancient Hosta pillow just seemed to warm the yard. We were feeling pretty heroic in Litchfield after weathering a four-inch snowfall last week. Related Images:

White Christmas

This flower reminds me of fire rather than late summer…which it was. There was snow on the ground in Litchfield this morning and we’ve got the stoves stoked with wood and pellets. It’s feeling cozy inside as the world outside rushes to Christmas. Related Images:
